I traveled from Southern Wisconsin to check out the vegan eats in Chicago. My family and I stopped here to have ice cream - something we can only get in select grocery stores back home. The soft serve style ice cream was incredible! I also got a slice of pistachio olive oil cake and that too was extremely delicious. I will definitely be back!

I had been seeing this sundae all over my feed and was super excited to try it out. It was definitely worth the trip, and I can’t say that I’ve had anything similar elsewhere so I loved the uniqueness. I also enjoyed the two textures of the ice cream and the rice. It wasn’t overly sweet, and I had seen someone else say that the mango flavor wasn’t super strong but I’d disagree, the mango definitely pulled through. My only issue was really there being no seating. The shop is literally just a window which was somewhat unexpected. Luckily I found a park bench nearby but that detracted from the experience. It was also a but pricey so this isn’t an everyday treat but I would say everyone should try it once.

Okay icecream for it being vegan. Got the strawberry shortcake. The custard had a nice rich flavor and texture however felt the toppings were overwhelming and quite sweet for my taste. Would go back to try the “death by chocolate” but may have the same problem for me personally. FYl no seating, order and pick up at the window.

As a vegan of 7 years, my bar is extremely high for non dairy ice cream and vaca’s is the best of the best. I’ve lived in Chicago for 2 years and have been upwards of 30 times - not one miss! Their monthly flavors are imaginative and insanely fresh, their homemade toppings are perfected and their staff is so kind. Expect slightly higher prices (likely because everything is homemade and they seem to pay their employees well) - I promise it’s more than worth it.

We couldn’t believe that this was non-dairy ice cream. It’s a small shop tucked away in a neighborhood. We actually missed the turnoff and accidentally went onto the highway, so it was a bit tricky to get to from the east, but the ice cream was well worth it. The flourless molten cake mixed with the oat based ice cream was so delicious. My wife really enjoyed her treat as well. Definitely worth the trip even if you can have a full-dairy experience.
